Description:

Kelowna-based startup PLAYR.gg is hiring a Product Manager!  This key role will be responsible for building products that deliver exceptional user experiences for  customers. Playr has a distributed team across North America, with a key group based in Kelowna. You could be located anywhere in Canada or the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for the entire product - roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty
  • Author stories and epics and ensure that the R&D team understands the requirements 
  • Manage the product backlog, roadmap, ideas, and key product initiatives
  • Facilitate product-specific conversations between customers, engineers, sales, marketing, and executive team to ensure business case and customer goals are met
  • Make product decisions based on data and product insights
  • Build and track user behavior, A/B test everything
  • Acts as the lead customer advocatearticulating the user’s needs and engage the customer advisory panel to gain valuable customer insights into product decisions
  • Interface with customers to determine future needs to drive the product roadmap
  • Ensure product KPI’s are tracked and targets are met (signups, in-app conversion, churn, etc.)
  • Take ownership of project schedules and delivering high-level updates to the exec
  • SCRUM Coach for the R&D organization - design and run the agile process (planning, standup, and retrospective) that works for all stakeholders
  • Work with stakeholders to develop a project plan and own the delivery dates for each department, and track project performance
  • Communicate high-level goals for each department; ensure status  and risks  are communicated to stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Product Development and Product Management
  • Familiarity with project management software such as JIRA
  • Proficiency with MS Office and G Suite
  • Solid knowledge of analytics (Google Analytics, Fullstory, etc) and BI (Tableau, Looker, etc)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Data-driven mindset: test, measure, iterate
  • An eye for detail and a love for great copy and witty communication
  • Most importantly: self-starter mindset – you’re driven to learn what's needed to get the job done

  • Understanding of Online Gaming / Esports
  • You watch/understand the Twitch Streaming market
